Preparing your home for winter is essential to keeping your home in pristine condition. Without regular maintenance your home will slowly decrease in value -- it is imperative that you stay on top of it! If your not sure where to start, I have created an interior and exterior checklist for you. Some of these you may have already done.. if not, jump on it before it gets too cold!


1. Rake leaves and dispose or mulch

2. Pressure wash, repair and seal driveway

3. Clean gutters and downspouts

4. Inspect the perimeter of your house and your roof  

5. Check and weatherize all windows and doors  

6. Store outdoor furniture

7. Drain hoses, sprinklers, and shut off outdoor water valves  

8. Winterize air conditioning unit

9. Sweep off front porch

10. Test your sump pump and store hose until spring



1. Inspect and possible change out HVAC filters (monthly)

2. Inspect fire extinguisher for adequate pressure and wear

3. Test smoke detectors

4. Clean behind the fridge

5. Check your dryers exhaust tube and vent for lint and debris

6. Reverse ceiling fans

7. Inspect furnace

8. Run water and flush toilets in unused spaces

9. Inspect chimney

10. Inspect attic to ensure insulation is evenly distributed
